Pre-Paid Legal was founded in 1972 by a man named Harland Stonecipher. After a costly brush with lawyers stemming from a head-on accident, Mr. Stonecipher discovered a cold hard truth. Although he was not at fault, his legal bills still accumulated. Of course he did not have any pre paid assistance for these legal bills as no low cost plan existed in America at that time.

Through the simple concept of pooling hundreds of thousands of customers and their small monthly fees, we are able to offer access to some of the best lawyers in the country, the kind of lawyers that only the rich and the famous have been able to afford.
